Atlanta rapper B.o.B has broken Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” stranglehold of the No. 1 slot of the Billboard 100, moving up to the top of the chart with his debut single “Nothin’ On You,” featuring Bruno Mars.
According to Billboard.com, this makes B.o.B the fourth male vocalist since October to reach the top of the chart with a debut track as Jay Sean, Jason Derulo, and Taio Cruz have done so within the past six months.
But don’t think that’s the end of B.o.B for this week, as he also scored the chart’s Hot Shot Debut as “Airplanes” featuring Paramore’s Haley Williams lands at No. 12 in its first week! B.o.B also released another track this week, “Bet I” which industry prognosticators anticipate breaking into the Hot 100 next week. The Atlanta rapper’s debut album, “B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray,” is scheduled to drop next Tuesday, April 27.
