Bruno Mars New ‘Stuck-In-Your-Head’ Song

Standard

Omg! Have you heard Bruno Mars‘ new single? It’s called “Locked Out of Heaven” and I want to play it on repeat for the next couple weeks. The harder-edged tune will be a part of his sophomore album, Unorthodox Jukebox which comes out December 11. Mars tells Billboard that this album represents his freedom in the studio. “This is me going into the studio and recording and writing whatever I want.” If “Locked Out of Heaven” is any indication of what’s to come… I’m in.

When asked why he would be locked out of heaven, Mars replied, “well… sex is heaven!” The sound is completely different, rather than Mars crooning about love or beauty, this song has a tribal beat and bright synths as he wails out lyrics completely centered around sex that feels heavenly.

Check out the new tune in the jukebox now!

Bruno Mars ‘It Will Rain’ To Be Featured On Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I

Standard

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m totally into Twilight. I read the books and was so into them before a lot of people were ever buzzing about the vampires. I can’t lie though, when my best friend told me she was reading a vampire love story, I told her that was gross and that I totally would not like it. Boy, was I wrong?!

Fast forward and The Twilight Saga has released 3 movies with 2 more on the way. Breaking Dawn Part I will be released this November and Part II will come out November 2012. To gear up for the first movie, the Twilight team has put together the soundtrack for the motion picture. One song from the album is Bruno Mars‘ new single “It Will Rain.” I’d name this my favorite Bruno Mars track. It’s got the Twilight feel with the background music and just enough love-song-lyrics to make girls and guys love this love song.

“It Will Rain” is in our jukebox right now, so do yourself a favor and check it out! As for you Twi-hards, I wanna hear your comments! And if you aren’t into Twilight, the song is still pretty awesome. So give it a listen!

First up, Travie McCoy had a great solo debut and now he’s back with his group, Gym Class Heroes and their upcoming album, The Papercut Chronicles. The first single teams Travie and Maroon 5 with their frontman and “The Voice” winning coach Adam Levine“Stereo Hearts” is this weeks HitPredictor at Mainstream Top 40.

Gavin Degraw’s next album Sweeter will released on September 6th, and will feature tracks co-written with a number of artists. The first single “Not Over You” was co-written and produced by Ryan Tedder, and it’s now a Hot AC HitPredictor.

Speaking of Ryan Tedder, he’s had a busy year. He’s produced the Mainstream Top 40 HitPredictor for Gym Class Heroes and he’s working on new material due in 2012. His 4th single from One Republic’s Waking Up album, “Good Life” is a HitPredictor this week at Mainstream AC.

Brooks and Dunn were one of the biggest Country duo’s of all time, and both members are successful solo acts. Even though he had singles out in the early 80s, before Brooks and Dunn formed, Ronnie Dunn just released his debut, self-titled, solo album. “Cost of Livin” is the 2nd single from it, and it’s a Country HitPredictor this week.

After six years without a new studio album, Sacramento Alternative rockers Cake recorded Showroom of Compassion in 2010. The album is grounded in Cake’s unique style of alternative rock, combining droll, often esoteric lyrics, rife with word play and syncopation, catchy distorted guitar riffs, complex bass patterns, Moog, and prominent use of trumpet. “Long Time” is the 2nd single from that album and it’s a HitPredictor this week at Alternative.

Before Breaking Benjamin, Ben Burnley was a solo performer. He later came up with the band’s name, “Breaking Benjamin” after doing a performance of a Nirvana cover. At the end of the performance, Ben knocked over and cracked a microphone he had borrowed. The owner of the microphone walked onto the stage and said, “I’d like to thank Benjamin for breaking my f**ing microphone.” Originally created for the video game Halo 2, and later appearing on the band’s 2004, So Cold EP, “Blow Me Away” now has a remix version slated to be included on the band’s Greatest Hits album, Shallow Bay: The Best of Breaking Benjamin. It’s an Active HitPredictor this week.

“Rolling in the Deep” strengthens its lock atop the chart with Airplay Gainer honors for a third consecutive week and the Digital Gainer award for the second time in four weeks.

Gaga was not enough to knock Katy Perry’s “E.T.” single ft. Kanye West out the No. 2 spot, where the song holds for another week.

Member’s Picks: The Weekend is Here!

Standard

Hooray for the weekend!! Here are 4 songs that our awesome member’s sent in as member’s picks! These songs are made possible for you by YOU so keep ’em coming! Send me your requests, hiddensong@hitpredictor.com!

Bruno Mars’ “Runaway Baby” is one of the songs off his debut album Doo Wops and Hooligans that was released in October 2010. Not knowing what singles will be released from an album makes this member’s pick really cool! If this song never gets to radio, it doesn’t matter because you can hear it right here!

Next we have “Rock Bottom Blues” by Kid Rock. This is a blues rendition of this tune that is predominately unheard of by Kid Rock. He doesn’t do this sound often, but I think he does it well. Let me know if you agree in the jukebox!

American Idol contestant Haley Reinhart has made it to the final three after being one of my least favorite contestants from the beginning. However, the member that nominated her version of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” for a member’s pick this week must be pulling for Haley. Do you see hit potential with Reinhart?

Last but not least, we have Country new-comer (and former improv comic) Sunny Sweeney with “Staying’s Worse Than Leaving.” This song comes from Sweeney’s 5 song EP that’s available on iTunes. Sweeney was recently welcomed into the Academy of Country Music and Maxim named her one of the Hottest Women of Country Music so she is definitely making a name for herself out there.

Let us know if you are feelin’ these songs in the jukebox!

Adele’s ‘Rolling in the Deep’ Takes Top Spot on Billboard Hot 100

Standard

Adele is on a roll as “Rolling in the Deep” takes the number one spot and gives Adele her first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It’s hard to believe she hasn’t achieved that feat already since she has racked up so many other honors.

“Rolling in the Deep” pushes Katy Perry’s “E.T.,” featuring Kanye West, to No. 2 on the Hot 100, after five weeks on top. Just as American Idol helped Perry and West hold on to the top spot last week, it helps Jennifer Lopez this week.

J Lo. traded her judge’s chair for the stage to perform “On the Floor,” featuring Pitbull, on “American Idol” last Thursday (May 5), the song soars 7-3 with Digital Greatest honors on the Hot 100. Lady Antebellum’s new single “Just a Kiss” blasts into the top 10 at No. 7 which also maybe because of their performance on ‘Idol’.

Billboard’s Hot 100 4-10:

  • No. 4 – Black Eyed Peas’ “Just Can’t Get Enough”
  • No. 5 – Bruno Mars’ “The Lazy Song”
  • No. 6 – Britney Spears’ “Till the World Ends”
  • No. 7 – Lady Antebellum “Just a Kiss”
  • No. 8 – Pitbull “Give Me Everything” ft. Ne-Yo, AfroJack, and Nayer
  • No. 9 – Rihanna’s “S&M”
  • No. 10 – Chris Brown’s “Look at Me Now” ft. Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes

Katy Perry’s ‘E.T.’ Dominates Digital Songs, Climbs Billboard Hot 100

Standard

Don’t worry Lady Gaga is still No. 1 on Hot 100 but since that is not new news, I’m angling Katy Perry this week! Her new track, “E.T.” that features Kanye West, soared up the digital songs chart from 5 to 1 and is currently No. 3 on the Hot 100 and earned the digital gainer of the week. Woo hoo for Katy!

No. 2 is still being held by Cee-Lo Green’s “F**k You (Forget You)” for the fourth consecutive week. And Rihanna’s “S&M” dips 3-4 but claims the Hot 100’s Airplay Gainer award.

The rest of the top 10 Hot 100 goes like this:

  • No. 5 – Jennifer Lopez’s “On the Floor”
  • No. 6 – P!nk’s “F**kin’ Perfect”
  • No. 7 – Bruno Mars’ “Grenade”
  • No. 8 – “Tonight (I’m Lovin’ You)” by Enrique Iglesias featuring Ludacris and DJ Frank E
  • No. 9 – Britney Spears’ “Till the World Ends”
  • No. 10 – Ke$ha’s “Blow”

What do you think of this week’s Hot 100? Katy Perry seems to be gaining in popularity and Gaga is holding number 1 for the fifth week in a row!
