HitPredictor Chart Results

Standard

Hey HP! Want to see where your votes are going and what is ranking the best among what you and your fellow HitPredictor members vote on? Look no further! The HitPredictor Charts are here.

First up, Travie McCoy had a great solo debut and now he’s back with his group, Gym Class Heroes and their upcoming album, The Papercut Chronicles. The first single teams Travie and Maroon 5 with their frontman and “The Voice” winning coach Adam Levine“Stereo Hearts” is this weeks HitPredictor at Mainstream Top 40.

Planet Pit is the 6th album by Pitbull and it features all-star producers like Dr Luke and David Guetta. “Rain Over Me”, featuring Marc Anthony, is the 3rd single from the album. Hesperia, California’s New Boyz have a 3rd single from Too Cool to Care called “Better With The Lights Off,” and it features Chris Brown. “Lighters” by Bad Meets Evil is from the album Hell: The Sequel. It’s one of the hottest singles at Mainstream Top 40 and this week it’s a Rhythmic HitPredictor.

Gavin Degraw’s next album Sweeter will released on September 6th, and will feature tracks co-written with a number of artists. The first single “Not Over You” was co-written and produced by Ryan Tedder, and it’s now a Hot AC HitPredictor.

Speaking of Ryan Tedder, he’s had a busy year. He’s produced the Mainstream Top 40 HitPredictor for Gym Class Heroes and he’s working on new material due in 2012. His 4th single from One Republic’s Waking Up album, “Good Life” is a HitPredictor this week at Mainstream AC.

Brooks and Dunn were one of the biggest Country duo’s of all time, and both members are successful solo acts. Even though he had singles out in the early 80s, before Brooks and Dunn formed, Ronnie Dunn just released his debut, self-titled, solo album. “Cost of Livin” is the 2nd single from it, and it’s a Country HitPredictor this week.

After six years without a new studio album, Sacramento Alternative rockers Cake recorded Showroom of Compassion in 2010. The album is grounded in Cake’s unique style of alternative rock, combining droll, often esoteric lyrics, rife with word play and syncopation, catchy distorted guitar riffs, complex bass patterns, Moog, and prominent use of trumpet. “Long Time” is the 2nd single from that album and it’s a HitPredictor this week at Alternative.

Before Breaking Benjamin, Ben Burnley was a solo performer. He later came up with the band’s name, “Breaking Benjamin” after doing a performance of a Nirvana cover. At the end of the performance, Ben knocked over and cracked a microphone he had borrowed. The owner of the microphone walked onto the stage and said, “I’d like to thank Benjamin for breaking my f**ing microphone.” Originally created for the video game Halo 2, and later appearing on the band’s 2004, So Cold EP, “Blow Me Away” now has a remix version slated to be included on the band’s Greatest Hits album, Shallow Bay: The Best of Breaking Benjamin. It’s an Active HitPredictor this week.

Standard

Adele is on a roll as “Rolling in the Deep” takes the number one spot and gives Adele her first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It’s hard to believe she hasn’t achieved that feat already since she has racked up so many other honors.

“Rolling in the Deep” pushes Katy Perry’s “E.T.,” featuring Kanye West, to No. 2 on the Hot 100, after five weeks on top. Just as American Idol helped Perry and West hold on to the top spot last week, it helps Jennifer Lopez this week.

J Lo. traded her judge’s chair for the stage to perform “On the Floor,” featuring Pitbull, on “American Idol” last Thursday (May 5), the song soars 7-3 with Digital Greatest honors on the Hot 100. Lady Antebellum’s new single “Just a Kiss” blasts into the top 10 at No. 7 which also maybe because of their performance on ‘Idol’.

Billboard’s Hot 100 4-10:

Adele’s ’21’ Grabs Sixth Week at No. 1

Standard

The Billboard 200 doesn’t have much going on this week. There isn’t a single debut in the top 10, which hasn’t happened since Jan. 22. What’s more is that not one album posted a sales gain in the top 40! Hopefully things will brighten up next week as many albums were released yesterday.

But as far as this week goes, here’s your top 10:

  • No. 1 – Adele’s “21”
  • No. 2 – Foo Fighters’ “Wasting Light”
  • No. 3 – Mumford & Sons’ “Sigh No More”
  • No. 4 – Britney Spears’ “Femme Fatale”
  • No. 5 – “Lemonade Mouth” soundtrack
  • No. 6 – Chris Brown’s “F.A.M.E.”
  • No. 7 – Glee’s “The Warblers”
  • No. 8 – Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream”

Adele Back Atop Billboard 200, ‘Glee’s’ the Warblers Debuts

Standard

Adele’s “21” flies back to the top passing Foo Fighters and the new Glee album. This will be Adele’s 5th non-consecutive week at the summit selling 153,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The Warblers – Glee’s next album to place on the charts – debuts at No. 2. This is rather uncommon for the hugely popular show because the Warblers marks the second smallest debut of all ten albums. It is second only to the “Rocky Horror Glee Show.”

Last week’s number one, the Foo Fighter’s “Wasting Light” slides to No. 3.

The rest of the top 10 on the Billboard 200:

  • No. 4 – Disney Channel’s “Lemonade Mouth” soundtrack
  • No. 5 – Britney Spears’ “Femme Fatale”
  • No. 6 – Alison Krauss + Union Station’s “Paper Airplane”
  • No. 7 – Mumford & Sons’ “Sigh No More”
  • No. 8 – Paul Simon’s “So Beautiful Or So What”

Rihanna Breaks Records as ‘S&M’ Grabs Top Spot on Hot 100

Standard

Rihanna’s “S&M” flies 2-1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week and earns Ri a pair of records in the process.

“S&M” marks the singer’s 10th No. 1 on the Hot 100 which is an accomplishment in itself, but that’s not actually the record-breaker here. The first incredible achievement comes in that Rihanna is the youngest singer to achieve the feat at 23 years old. The next is the amount of time in which she did it. Rihanna logs the shortest span between a solo artist’s first and 10th No. 1s – a stretch of four years, 11 months and two weeks. (Her 1st, “SOS” reached the top in 2006.)

Rihanna’s track displaces her real-life best friend, Katy Perry’s “E.T.,” featuring Kanye West (No. 2), after three weeks atop the Hot 100.

The rest of the top 10:

  • No. 3 – Black Eyed Peas’ “Just Can’t Get Enough”
  • No. 4 – Jeremih’s “Down on Me” ft 50 Cent
  • No. 5 – Cee Lo Green’s “F**k You (Forget You)”
  • No. 6 – Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep”
  • No. 7 – Chris Brown’s “Look at Me Now” ft Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes
  • No. 8 – Jennifer Lopez’s “On the Floor” ft Pitbull
  • No. 9 – Britney Spears’ “Till the World Ends”
  • No. 10 – Lady Gaga’s “Judas”

Foo Fighters Earn First No. 1 Album with ‘Wasting Light’

Standard

Billboard forecasted last week that the Foo Fighters would make it to number one this time around, and they did!

The Foo Fighters Wasting Light debuts at No. 1 with 235,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The start is the band’s second-largest sales week — trumped only by the No. 2 launch of “In Your Honor” in 2005, which began with 311,000.

Only because of the Foo’s pushing her, Adele’s 21 bows to No. 2 even though she had a 5% sales increase.

Coming in at No. 3 is Alison Krauss and Union Station’s “Paper Airplane,” selling 83,000.

The rest of the top 10 looks like this:

  • No. 4 – Paul Simon’s “So Beautiful Or So What”
  • No. 5 – Mana’s “Drama y Luz”
  • No. 6 – Britney Spears’ “Femme Fatale”
  • No. 7 – “Songs For Japan” charity compilation
  • No. 8 – Wiz Khalifa’s “Rolling Papers”
  • No. 9 – Chris Brown’s “F.A.M.E.”
  • No. 10 – Mumford & Sons’ “Sigh No More”
