Is Ke$ha headed for a sophomore slump? Speculation & more from DJ Lilly!

Hey HP!

I said I would have some of the songs that I submitted to rate this week; but they weren’t in the jukebox last week. I heard they may or may not be in there today, so I promise I will rate them next week if they are :).

Nothing going on with the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 list; but Ke$ha did premiere this week. I like the song “Take It Off”; but I don’t think she will surpass the success of previous releases. In other words, I think she will go through the sophomore slump on her next album.

I liked the Alex Goot songs in the jukebox this week and the Avery Von Hoffman songs too. In fact, I liked most of the songs in the jukebox this week. (I know – I am as amazed as you are).

The song isn’t new; but I still love “Nothing To Lose” by Bret Michaels (feat Miley Cyrus). Get past the whole creepy child molester vibe thing and it’s a good song (and probably one of my fave songs of the year).

One song that I like that I wasn’t able to comment on last week (rules) is “Rhythm of Love” by Plain White T’s. I think it’s another great song by them. I also liked “Perfect Nightmare” by Shontelle; but it wasn’t nearly as good as “Impossible”.

I think my favorite song this week was “Whatever You Want” by the as-yet unsigned Jerad Finck – it’s not a new sound and the song doesn’t do anything special to me; but it’s a good song and I like it.

Holy crud, Paula Cole is in the jukebox! I am happy she is still doing music and from the sound of things, it sounds like she still has the talent to be a hit on the charts.

Please listen to today’s hottest music and yesterday’s biggest hits on Resolution Radio! I do shows twice every weekend at 9 p.m. Eastern (Friday and Sunday). If you want my opinion on a specific song; please e-mail me between now and Monday, and I will add it to my list! – DJ Lilly (hewitt_fanatic@musician.org)

We need you to evaluate a unique collaboration and some brand new tracks!

We’ve got a few brand new (and interesting) tracks in the HitPredictor jukebox now that we want your feedback on!

A couple of weeks ago we first reported on an interesting collaboration that went down between Kanye West, Raekwon, and Justin Bieber. The three got together – after hooking up and making plans on Twitter – to record a remix of Bieber’s “Runaway Love” from Bieber’s My World 2.0. Well, that remix has since been released and we want to know what you think of the “Runaway Love” remix! Is Bieber’s latest collaboration with two of the industry’s biggest heavy-hitters a potential hit?

Shontelle has released the second single from her upcoming album No Gravity due out Sept. 21 and we need your feedback on it! “Perfect Nightmare” is a Darkchild produced track that has a unique blend of a piano-based melancholy melody that cranks up into a pop club-like anthem as it describes Shontelle struggling to break free from a hurtful relationship. Do you think this track will fare well on pop radio?

Nicki Minaj and will.i.am have teamed up for an 80’s inspired remix track called “Check It Out” which is slated to be featuerd on the Lime Light Exclusives mixtape and is slated to be on Minaj’s debut LP Pink Friday. This happy-go-lucky track features an underlying “Video Killed The Radio Star” beat, but Minaj and will.i.am give it a modern hip-hop twist complete with plenty of auto-tune. It seems that everything Minaj touches lately turns to radio gold, so do you think this track promises to be another smash hit?

This week Diddy’s son Quincy – otherwise known as International Quincy – released the video for his track “Words From Me.” The video caught our attention initially because of the association with Diddy (although his biological father is actually 90s R&B singer Al B. Sure), but the track is what we want your feedback on! We think it may have some potential, but need you to tell us what you think! So, check out “Words From Me” in the HitPredictor jukebox and let us know what you think!

Do you know of another new track or unique collaboration you think deserves some attention because of its hit potential? Let us know!
