Do any of these singles have potential? You tell us!

Standard

We have some brand new music in the HitPredictor jukebox just in time for the weekend that we wanted to tell you about! While there are a bunch of new tunes we think have the potential to be impacting singles, we need YOUR VOTES to tell us whether or not they actually will be! Among the notable new uploads we have in the jukebox this morning are:

Rodney Atkins’ “Farmer’s Daughter” is not a cover of Merle Haggard’s classic, but a song about a farmer, his beautiful daughter, and the farmhand who falls in love with her. It’s the fourth single from Rodney’s third studio album It’s America. Do you think this track about a hot summer romance can become Rodney’s fastest climbing single? Or, do you think it’s going nowhere!

Katy Perry has ruled the summer so far with “California Gurls” and just yesterday released the second single from her upcoming album, Teenage Dream. The new track (by the same name) is now in the HitPredictor jukebox for you to rate. Do you think she’s got another winner with “Teenage Dream”?

Kenny Chesney’s “The Boys of Fall” is a brand new song off the country star’s upcoming album Hemingway’s Whiskey, scheduled to drop Sept. 28. This track is a tribute to his high school memories as wide receiver of Gibbs High’s football team in Luttrell, Tenn. and focuses on the life lessons kids learn when playing high school football. What do you think of this trip down nostalgia lane? Is it a sentiment you want more of in his new album?

Josh Kelly is the brother of Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelly, and the husband of actress Katherine Heigl who is just about to release his first country album. The first single from that project, “Georgia Clay” is fresh to the airwaves and we want to know if  you think Josh is going to make a name for himself as a country artist with this single? Does it make you want to hear more from his new album?

Travie McCoy’s “Need You” is a hot new track off his first solo album, Lazarus, which dropped last month. McCoy has defended the song saying it’s not about moving on from Gym Class Heroes, but rather directed at ex-girlfriend Katy Perry – but “not in a bad way” – emphasizing that “it’s about how tough it is to move on and explain to someone that you’re bruised and not really ready to pursue something.” So, does this track resonate that sentiment with you?

Let us know what you think of these new tracks in addition to new uploads from earlier this week that include songs from tobyMac, Smashing Pumpkins, MercyMe, Anarbor, Usher and more!

Many of country music’s biggest stars gave performances and helped answer phones on Sunday during a telethon from the Ryman Auditorium, aired on the GAC Network to raise money for flood relief in Tennessee. The AP is reporting that the effort has already raise at least $1.5 million, with the final tally due out today.

Singers such as Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Sheryl Crow, Kellie Pickler, Martina McBride, Rodney Atkins, Randy Montana, Cece Winans, Jaci Velasquez, Will Hoge, and Keb’Mo’ all joined in on the effort.

Brad Paisley kicked off the show and the donation effort, singing “Welcome To The Future” before contributing a $100,000 donation with his wife and co-host, Kimbery Williams Paisley.

Keith Urban performed an acoustic version of “Help” by the Beatles, and explained that even he was personally affected by the flooding stating: “We certainly weren’t spared. Our place out in Franklin, we had quite a bit of damage out there. And other than a lot of my musical equipment – which floated down the river toward Smyrna, I think is where it was seen last – it’s just been a very moving experience for me.”

According to the AP, the money raised will go to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
