Despite Lady Gaga’s grueling Monster Ball tour schedule, the pop diva is writing and recording new tracks to a follow-up album, according to a report from VIBE magazine.
Keith Murphy reports that Akon, who signed Gaga to his Kon Live Distribution label in 2008, has been hard at work on the road. He said: “She records while she’s on the road. I’m flying out to Europe to work on some new records with her. Gaga’s just like me. She has a tour bus with a studio in it. Some of the songs I’ve heard are going to be crazy. She’s getting bigger and better.”
Akon also said Gaga is a self-contained artist, which makes his job easier. He explains: “All I’m doing at the end of the day is listening to the tracks Gaga has written and approving them for her album. She has producers that she works with outside of myself and they are coming up with some incredible records. But the beauty of it is she knows exactly what she wants. So it just makes it easier for me.”
There is no hint of a date for a follow-up album release timeline yet, but there’s been other evidence that Gaga has been busy planning a new album for quite some time. Back in February we reported that producer RedOne had plans to hit the studio again with Lady Gaga “within weeks.”
