HitPredictor Charts are here to serve up your Monday dose of hot songs on HitPredictor. Check it out:
Adele is back with her 2nd hit from 21, which is one of the highest scoring Hot AC HitPredictors of all time, which is certainly believable for an artist who held down the #1 album on the Billboard 200 Album Charts for 4 straight months. This month Adele holds the honor of #1 overall album on the HitPredictor Artist Charts. “Someone Like You” has already been #1 in the UK and Australia, and it’s a HitPredictor this week at Hot AC.
Dev was discovered by The Cataracs when she posted a song onto MySpace. Her song “Booty Bounce” was sampled in Far East Movement’s hit single “Like a G6”, which reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Now she has her own first hit with “In the Dark.” When Wiz Khalifa was 17 years old, hip-hop stardom was still only a pipe dream. Wiz got his name because he was always hanging out with older guys, and was good at everything the older guys did, so they’d say “He’s a young wiz”. He has his third hit from Rolling Papers 2011 with “No Sleep.” Both songs are Rhythmic HitPredictors this week.
This week’s new Urban Hitpredictor comes from American rapper Wale, from Washington, D.C. and it comes off his album Self Made Vol 1. It features two R&B hiphop superstars, Jeremih and Rick Ross.
Blake Shelton is doing a lot of celebrating this year, marrying his Country sweetheart Miranda Lambert, Blake said after the wedding “I wanted to be married to Miranda the day I proposed. Finally, it’s official!” He’s also celebrating the highest scoring Country HitPredictor in years with “God Gave Me You,” written by Dave Barnes, it might as well be a tribute to his new wife.
Staind frontman Aaron Lewis has been very busy over the last year. He finished his own country-tinged solo album, started a non-profit organization to re-open his daughter’s elementary school in Worthington, Massachusetts, and got ready to release Staind’s new and 7th album. Originally slated to be titled Seven, it has since been re-titled Staind. In speaking about the album in a recent Question & Answer session with fans, guitarist Mike Mushok stated during that the band is looking to make a heavy record, but still “explore some of the things we did on the last record and take them somewhere new for us.” The first single from it, “Not Again” is an Active Rock HitPredictor this week.
The Jakes were formed in 2004 in Irvine, UT. They decided to rename themselves Young The Giant around the time they signed to Roadrunner Records in 2009. Set to open for Incubus on tour this summer, they celebrate the 2nd hit from their self-titled album as “Cough Syrup” is this week’s Alternative HitPredictor.
