Unless you have a huge personality similar to the likes of Beyonce, departing from the group that made you famous is never easy. That’s what Brit star, Nicola Roberts is trying to do.
She was formerly with the girl group Girls Aloud, along with Cheryl and Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, and Kimberly Walsh. Cheryl was the first to break away from the others and has released two solo albums, as well as, judged Simon Cowell’s “X-Factor” singing competition show all in Europe. Nadine was next. She released her debut album in late 2010 with announced plans to release in America this summer.
Now it’s Nicola Roberts turn. She is perhaps the most interesting of all the girls and she has already found a huge fan in famed celebrity blogger, Perez Hilton. Roberts released her first single, “Beat Of My Drum” on British radio last Friday (June 3). There is also a video for the song which shows off Roberts orange hair and hipster fashions, a cheerleading group with some impressive footwork, and a drum-line.
