R&B singer, Sean Kingston wrecked his Sea-Doo jet ski into the Palm Island bridge in Miami, Florida at approximately 6pm EST on Sunday. He remains in critical condition and hooked up to ventilators with tubes down his throat at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.
Sean’s rep told MTV News, “He is aware of what is going on around him,” adding that the singer “is sedated but fully conscious.”
Jackson Memorial Hospital also issued a statement: ” Sean Kingston is currently in critical but stable condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. Sean’s family asks for privacy at this time but is thankful to his friends, family and fans for their outpouring of prayers and well wishes.”
Kingston and female friend, Cassandra Sanchez were rescued by an off-duty Coast Guard employee and taken to the trauma center at the hospital. Sanchez has since been released and spoke to gossip site, TMZ about the incident. She claims to have warned Kingston about the bridge but they were going “really fast” and he couldn’t avoid the crash. Sanchez also said that as Kingston was maneuvering toward the bridge, she urged him to stop and screamed out, “We can’t fit under there! Are we going to try and go under there? Sean, stop!”
