Here’s an update to the hottest songs on the HitPredictor Charts!

Brother-sister trio The Band Perry was discovered in 2008 by Garth Brooks’ manager Bob Doyleis and is now one of the hottest new acts at Country. The 3rd single from their self-titled debut album If I Die Young reached number one on the Hot Country Songs charts and has been certified platinum. It’s now a HitPredictor at both Mainstream Top 40 and Hot AC this week.

Miguel was in a legal battle with his old label while waiting to record for new label Jive Records. During that time he contributed songs to Usher, Musiq Soulchild and Asher Roth. In 2007, Miguel’s manager submitted this week’s HitPredictor “Sure Thing” to his old label, which he described as a “highly personal…record that no one was ever supposed to hear.” Rihanna’s “Man Down” is the 5th single from her 2010 album Loud and it’s about shooting a lover in a moment of passion. Both songs are Rhythmic HitPredictors this week.

American Idol season 7 winner David Cook is set to release his 2nd major label album This Loud Morning in June. The first single “Last Goodbye” made its debut live on the American Idol (season 10) top 7 results show last month, and it’s a HitPredictor at Hot AC this week.

Josh Groban’s life changed when his vocal coach submitted a tape of Josh singing, “All I Ask of You”, from The Phantom of the Opera, to renowned producer, composer and arranger David Foster. Foster asked Josh to fill in for Andrea Bocelli to sing a duet with Celine Dion at a rehearsal for the Grammy’s in 1998. Talk show host Rosie O’Donnell saw that, and invited him on her show. He was then asked to guest on TV show Ally McBeal and his career took off. His latest “Higher Window” is a HitPredictor at Mainstream AC this week.

Signed to Curb Records since 1996, Rodney Atkins charted his first single on the Billboard country charts that same year, but did not release an album until 2003’s Honesty, which included the Top 5 hit “Honesty (Write Me a List).” “Take A Back Road” is his latest and we have no doubt that this song — reportedly the lead single from Atkins’ forthcoming TBA album — is destined to be the road trip song of the year, with its clever sing-along lyrics and groovin’ guitar licks. This week Rodney’s new hit is a Country HitPredictor.

Metalcore rockers Avenged Sevenfold cite many influences including Bad Religion, Guns N’ Roses, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Metallica, Alice in Chains, and Rage Against The Machine. “So Far Away” is this week’s sole Alternative HitPredictor.

Stone Sour’s self-titled debut album earned the group two Grammy Award nominations, both for Best Metal Performance. The band is recording their upcoming album titled Audio Secrecy, which is described as “the summation of everything we want, everything we crave and everything we fight for…” The first single from that album, “Digital (Did You Tell)” is an Active Rock HitPredictor this week.

What do y’all think of the HitPredictors this week?!
