Chris Brown’s ‘F.A.M.E.’ Grabs No. 1 on Billboard 200

Another piece of Chris Brown news today, positive news thank goodness!

Brown racks up his first number one spot on the Billboard 200 with his new album F.A.M.E. The album sold 270,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan. This makes Brown’s fourth top 10 album following his self-titled debut (No. 2, 2005), “Exclusive” (No. 4, 2007) and “Graffiti” (No. 7, 2009). “F.A.M.E.’s” start also marks the singer’s second-best sales week — only “Exclusive’s” 294,000 bow was bigger.

Jennifer Hudson’s “I Remember Me” comes in at No. 2 with 165,000 sold and Adele, who was at number one last week, slips to 3 with 96,000.

Brown and Hudson are just two of the seven new entries in the top 10 this week. Wow! Lots of newbies, let’s see who they are:

  • No. 4 – The Strokes’ “Angles” (89,000)
  • No. 5 – Kirk Franklin’s “Hello Fear” (87,000)
  • No. 6 – “Songs For Japan” (68,000)
  • No. 7 – Panic at the Disco’s “Vices & Virtues” (56,000)
  • No. 8 – Mumford & Sons’ “Sigh No More” (39,000)
  • No. 9 – Bobby V’s “Fly On the Wall” (38,000)
  • No. 10 – Lupe Fiasco’s “Lasers” (29,000)

Hooray for some new talent topping the chart! I know y’all like that.
