Live Nation Rep Says Rihanna Tour Dates Not Cancelled

Standard

After an article on Page Six in the New York Post ran earlier this week claiming that Rihanna is cancelling some North American tour dates, buzz is flying about the subject. The simple truth, she’s not cancelling any dates and she is on schedule to sell out most shows.

Page Six said that Rihanna’s Roc Nation manager, Jay Brown, advised her to cancel domestic dates of the tour. Still, Rihanna has already sold out 56 arenas in Europe and 30 in the United States even though the shows aren’t until June or July. According to the souce at Live Nation – who is in a good position to know –  hip-hop/R&B shows are historically known to be late-selling, the entire live business has trended more to a late-buying sales pattern during the economic downturn.

Seems to me like everything is fine with RiRi’s shows. Could this be a publicity stunt to sell even more tickets? Sound off below!
