Lady Gaga Grabs 1,000th No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100

I said yesterday when I reported the Billboard 200 that I would be back today with full details on Lady Gaga not only getting her new song “Born This Way” to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart but picking up the milestone of that No. 1 being the 1,000th No. 1 that Billboard has doled out since they started charting data 53 years ago.

Well I am back and I’ve got the scoop! As well as the rest of the top 10 on this week’s Hot 100.

Gaga tells Billboard of the milestone, “It is a tremendous honor, to be the 1000th no. 1 on Billboard…I would be silly not to say this is the greatest honor of my career. I am so humbled and so honored and overwhelmed by the reception to ‘Born This Way,’ ” Gaga adds. “[It] has been so life changing for me as an artist, and between Billboard and the international number ones and the radio numbers…I couldn’t be more blessed to have the fans that I have.”

Speaking of Gaga, did any of you see her outfit on ‘Good Morning America’ this a.m.? The Lady says it was inspired by a condom to promote HIV/AIDS awareness. Whoa, that’s all I’m gonna say about that.

In other news, the fight between Katy Perry’s Firework” and Bruno Mars’ “Grenade” continues. This week Katy Perry is in the No. 2 spot beating out Mars as he slides to number three.

Anyway, here is the rest of the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 for this week:

  • No. 4 – “Black and Yellow” by Wiz Khalifa
  • No. 5 – “F**kin’ Perfect” by P!nk (this week’s airplay gainer)
  • No. 6 – Tonight (I’m Loving You) by Enrique Iglesias ft. Ludacris and DJ Frank E
  • No. 7 – “F**k You (Forget You)” by Cee-Lo Green
  • No. 8 – “S&M” by Rihanna
  • No. 9 – “The Time (Dirty Bit)” by The Black Eyed Peas
  • No. 10 – “Hold It Against Me” by Britney Spears
