Rihanna‘s new video for her single “S&M” is kooky, kinky, and everything in between. Rihanna’s colorful sets and costume changes make this video really exciting, it is rather, um, suggestive however. The video opens with RiRi attending a press conference where she is trapped in plastic wrap against the wall, wearing a newspaper headlines dress, and reporters are wearing rubber choke balls.
Next, Rihanna sports a “censored” tube top in one scene and pink latex in the next. She also has a dog on a leash that looks a-heck-of-a-lot like gossip blogger, Perez Hilton.
Rihanna told MTV’s Sway that the video was not about sex. She takes special aim at the media in the clip and says that for her, the song is not about sexuality, “it’s a metaphorical song,” Rihanna explains. Some of the lyrics in the song say, “sticks and stones make break my bones, but chains and whips excite me!” Ri said the energy of the song is what attracted her to it originally. She also claims that the lyrics “make sense to the way [she] feels.” Now seeing the video, we all know how she feels about the media! See the rest of Rihanna’s interview with Sway here.
I am going to advise some parental discretion before viewing this video so beware of that if your under 18.
